I have started thinking about how I want to wrap my presents this year. I will probably go with the usual...solid paper with satin ribbon.

I was excited to see that some of the things we use every year for wrapping our presents can be found Made in America!

Check out www.nashvillewraps.com. I am sure all of the products offered are not made here in the US however this product is made right there and how fun would it be personalized? I think so!

Seasonal Scents - Giveaway!

As you know, the big holiday season is approaching!

I will try to post some things often in the next month to think about and consider that relate to this awesome time of year. So much to be thankful for and to celebrate!

The scents and smells of the holiday season come to most of us easily and bring back wonderful memories and a cozy feeling in general for me. Some scented products made here in the USA to scent your home or give as a gift that I use and love are:

http://www.thymes.com/
I love, love, love the Frasier Fir All Purpose Cleaner. I use it on most everything in my home during the holiday season....dusting, floors (wood and tile) and counter tops. It has real oils in it therefore you get the true scent in your home. This company makes several products and other scents but for the holidays the Frasier Fir scent is very clean, fresh and smells like Christmas! What a wonderful product to use for yourself...or give as a gift. I think this would be a great housewarming or hostess gift.
You can get yours at tulipshome.com

I also love http://www.goldcanyon.com/
My favorite scents for fall and winter are Pumpkin Pie, Farmhouse Cider, Mulled Cider, and Mulled Harvest.
My favorite scents for Christmas are Spruce and Citrus and King's Myrrh (great all winter as well). Gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling inside!
This company offers most any scent you prefer... and you will definitely find it with so many choices. They also offer many ways to scent your home and many sizes to choose from. This company offers many other products as well (the cleaning products work and smell great, fyi.) and I could go on and on about other scents I love from them).

I also like http://scentsy.net/
Scentsy is great for when you won't be home and need a flameless scent to arrive back home to or if you are in and out all day long and have company coming.  I use the plug in nightlight in my kitchen (can be used in any room in your home). It saves counter space and can freshen up the smell in the kitchen quickly with one of the scented "bars" (square scented wax). A couple of the "most popular" scents are Welcome Home and Pumpkin Roll. Thunderstorm works well year round as well as many others.
They have many scents to choose from and I am sure you will find one to your liking!
(my favorite in the summer is coconut lemongrass fyi).
This company also offers other products besides the "bars" to scent your home and car as well. All products from this company are wickless so it is a nice alternative to a flame.

I hope this boosts your excitement for this most wonderful time of the year! The scents and smells are always so delightful. I am looking forward to all of them!

Side note: A few things mentioned on one of my new favorite shows, Made in America, on the Travel Channel last night....Louisville Slugger, Krispy Kremes and Airstream! A few of my favorite things for sure! They just shout out "America" and I love it!

Gibson Guitars

If you can catch a show that I just discovered on Travel HD called "Made in America" try to watch the current episode on Gibson guitars, made in Nashville, TN. Very interesting!

American Crafts

Another craft company I discovered recently: www.americancrafts.com

This company states, "All of our pens, markers and pattern papers are made here in the United States. American Crafts started as a pen manufacturer over sixteen years ago and we are proud that while almost every other pen and marker company has moved production out of the USA, we continue to manufacture ours right here in Orem, Utah."

I picked up some sparkly ones for my daughter at TJ Maxx recently, but I am sure these are sold at many craft stores across the U.S.A. The only one I could find in Oklahoma was:
SCRAP HAPPY'S-TULSA
918-250-0472

This may seem like a small item, and it is, but just think if everyone started paying attention to each thing we buy how we could start making a difference....saving jobs right here in our country.

Snifty Pen

I was browsing TJ Maxx and looked at some fun pens for stocking stuffers for my kids. When I saw they were Made in America I snatched them up....feeling good that my kids would be using something I considered safe and fun at the same time. For some pens that have different scents, which most kids I know love check out: www.sniftypen.com

Bella Notte

Many of us (including me) already know the beauty and comfort of this product. But, did you know that Bella Notte products are manufactured and finished in the United States by local community craftspeople? I personally think this is a great reason to consider this product the next time you are in the market for new bedding!

Stormy Kromer

WINTERGREEN/BLUE SPRUCE
When I opened my new Country Living Magazine and read about this company started in 1903 and still Made in America today I had to share it. With the weather getting chilly here and the holidays sneaking upon us I thought these were adorable for myself or gifts. On the fact page I got even more interested in supporting this business and sharing it with others. www.stormykromer.com.  Read the FAQ page and get excited like I did about the history, craftsmanship and just the fact that they have kept their quality and company here in the great US of A!
